Walk. Collect. Compete.
Every step you take drives your car down the road. Walk 10,000 steps and you've lapped the circuit. Race the friends you actually know — one race a day, from your local midnight until 9 PM.
Why it's a game
Stepstorm Racers isn't a fitness tracker with a coat of paint. It's a daily competition that happens to run on the walking you already do.
Steps arrive automatically from Apple Health and Health Connect. There's no start button and no tracking to remember. If you walked today, you raced today.
There's no global leaderboard and no worldwide rank. You race your friends — the people whose names you actually want to beat.
Your day runs on your own clock, local midnight to 9 PM. Everyone gets the same window, whether they're across the street or across an ocean.
Your position on the road is your step count. Overtaking a friend isn't a number ticking over — you watch it happen.
The daily window
Every player gets one race per day. It opens at your local midnight and closes at your local 9 PM — then the interesting part starts.
Steps start counting the moment your local date turns over. Your car rolls onto the road at the start line.
Steps stop. Your score is settled and your rank is worked out across your whole friend network.
Three hours to open your crates, claim your rank rewards, and watch the leaderboard settle — while the day is still officially alive.
The next day opens. Everything you earned is yours to keep — unopened crates wait for you, and any rewards you didn't claim are collected automatically.
Steps count until 9 PM and then they stop — for everyone, everywhere. Nobody gets to pad a score with the walk home, and nobody has to wonder whether it's worth starting.
Because the window is anchored to the wall clock rather than to a stopwatch, the day you actually get is still 21 hours on a normal day — and it stays honest on the two days a year when the clocks move.
Ranked first when the lock hits? Your car wears the crown and you're the king of the day.
The race world
Your road is a side-scrolling world, and your car sits exactly as far along it as you've walked. There is no end to reach — only laps to bank.
10,240
A car's position is its step count. The gold outline is you; the crown goes to whoever's leading.
Laps & loot
Laps don't pay out on the spot. They hand you something sealed — and the moment you open it is the reward.
Common
Every lap you complete drops one of these in your inventory. Sealed. Something in it.
Rare
Sealed, and heavier than it looks. Turns up from rank rewards and the loot tables.
While you walk
Loot isn't only for racing. Every day you walk, these pay out on the way past.

LegendaryThe one you tell people aboutA lap, once banked, is yours. Power-ups can shove a rival backwards down the road, but they can't repossess a lap they've already crossed — and they certainly can't take back a crate you've already earned.
Crates never expire. A container you earned waits for you as long as you need it, so there's no pressure to open anything before you're ready.
Power-ups
Power-ups move steps, not points — which means a well-timed hit doesn't just change a number, it changes where someone's car is sitting on the road.

Your car
Your car is how your friends recognise you on the road. Collect bodies, paints and decals, then take them into the garage and make something that's unmistakably yours.
Everything you unlock keeps working for you — a car you own is a car you own, however the race went.

Friends only
Ranking only ever happens inside your friend network — you and the people you've added. Nobody else can see you, and there's no worldwide ladder to climb.
Your friends don't all live in the same time zone, so ranks stay live through the day and only truly settle once the last person in the network has finished. Someone eight hours behind you still counts.
That also means the day has a climax. Attacks land while a friend's day is still open — including during their bonus period — so a well-timed hit in the final hour can still move a rank that looked settled.
A Spike Strip hit you for −1,000 steps.
Your shield ate a Bomb.
You completed a lap — a Crate is waiting in your inventory.
A friend just passed you — you're now #4.

When the lock hits, your finishing position pays out. Rewards are items — never points — so claiming them can't quietly rewrite a score that's already been settled.
1st place
The crown, and the best loot band in the game.
2nd – 3rd
Strong odds at rare and epic drops.
4th – 10th
Solid mid-table loot, plus every crate you banked.
Everyone else
You showed up. That still pays.
Racing on consecutive days builds a streak, and a streak is worth real points — up to 175 extra a day once you're seven days deep. Skip a day and it resets, so the pressure is gentle but it is real.
Your profile tracks the whole history: wins, best day, longest streak, longest run at number one, items collected, power-ups used, attacks sent and blocked, and every podium finish you've taken.
Fair & private
Your phone reports what you walked. It doesn't decide anything — scores, ranks, drops and rewards are all worked out server-side, so there's nothing to fiddle with on a rooted phone.
Segments are checked for overlap, ordered against a sync cursor, and capped at plausible daily limits. Data that doesn't add up doesn't count.
Manually entered health samples are recorded for audit but verified as zero. The score only ever reflects steps a device actually measured.
Friends see your steps, score and rank for the day — that is the game. They never see your raw health records, your sync history, or your time zone.
Sign in with Apple, Google, or a one-time code sent to your email. There's no password to forget, reuse, or have leaked.
Questions
No. Steps are read from Apple Health and Health Connect, so your day is already being counted whether or not the app is open. You only need to open it to watch, use a power-up, or open a crate.
Yes — and you don't have to do anything special. Both Apple Health and Health Connect already merge phone and watch data before the game reads it, so a step counted on your wrist isn't counted again from your pocket.
Those steps belong to tomorrow. The lock is the same for everyone in the race, which is exactly what makes the last hour worth watching.
Today's race keeps the window it started with — a change of zone never moves a deadline you were already racing against. Your new time zone applies from the next day onward.
Your day is anchored to the wall clock, not to a stopwatch, so it simply runs an hour short or an hour long. The 9 PM lock still lands at 9 PM.
They see your step count, score and rank for the day — that's the competition. Raw health records, sync history and rejected data are never shown to anyone, and neither is your time zone.
They show up parked at the start line until their own day begins. You can race ahead — their window will open when their midnight comes around.
